IN  THE  LIKENESS  OF  HIS  DEATH

March 31, 2022                               IN  THE  LIKENESS  OF  HIS  DEATH
Romans 6:5-7, 11-13 “For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for He who has died is freed from sin.”   “Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”
It seems that many believers fail to embrace or accept this passage, and others like it, as true, and try to explain it away; the common response is “Yes, I have been born again, but I continue to sin-my old sin nature is still at work in me.” I personally think that missing the truth of what this and other passages teach is the greatest error in the church today. Everything about the Christian life hinges on the truth that our old man was crucified with Christ and that we have been freed from sin. Yes, believers can and do sin, BUT they do so by CHOICE, not by being forced to sin by the old sin nature; we cannot excuse our sins by claiming that it’s just a part of our old nature at work in us. I think the problem hinges around the fact that we do not like the idea of becoming united with Christ in the likeness of His death; we simply do not like dying to ourselves and our ways; we are convinced that we can have it both ways-His way and our way. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus came so that our sins could be forgiven AND that we could be freed from the power of sin. The essential factor is how we ‘consider’ ourselves; the scriptures tell us to consider ourselves dead to sin, but alive to God. We no longer have to let sin reign and have its way in our mortal body. Throughout the New Testament we find many scriptures telling us that we are no longer bound to sin-that we have been set free from the power of sin. The go to scripture for those who believe we are bound to the old sin nature is Romans 7:19 where Paul says “For the good that I wish, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not wish.” However, if you take this verse in context, you find that Paul was describing living life according to the flesh-not according to the Spirit. Romans 7 is not Paul’s testimony. Note that in verse 24 Paul ask who will set him free from the life lived according to the flesh; in the next verse he answers the question-“Thanks be to God.” Then to make it absolutely clear, in 8:2 Paul says “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” This is an important subject that we must come to understand, and it would take pages for us to even ‘scratch the surface.’ I encourage us to study the scriptures to learn what it means to die to self and to live in the likeness of Christs’ resurrection-to live in newness. (It is a matter of us choosing to walk by the Spirit, and not by the flesh.)
Romans 6:1-2, 7 “What shall we say them? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?”    “for he who has died is freed from sin.”

ENTER  BY  THE  NARROW  GATE

March 28, 2022                                   ENTER  BY  THE  NARROW  GATE
Mathew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction; and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few or those who find it.”
In many ways, this is a frightening verse; it is saying that what may seem to right to the logical mind is actually wrong. Today, it seems we have minimized what it means to ‘come to Christ’ and have made it an easy three-step process that anyone can follow. Because we have often neglected to present the greater message of the gospel of salvation-of what it means to come to Christ, there are likely many who profess to be Christians but in reality do not know Jesus as Savior. In our culture, we not like ‘narrow gates;’ we like the broad way-we like to have choices-we like to be broad-minded-and we like to believe that all roads lead to heaven. It seems we have come to a place in our day where it is good, acceptable, and normal for each person to do what is right in his or her own eyes. Jesus was speaking to our culture when He said that many take the way that is broad, avoiding the narrow gate. The broad way is traveled with trust in riches, with prestige in one’s accomplishments, with selfish interest, with pride-and the list goes on. The narrow gate is Jesus-and nothing else. The narrow gate is knowing that only in Jesus do we find life that satisfies the deepest longing of our souls. To enter by the narrow gate, we must lay aside all of our baggage-our pride and our insistence to live according to our own desires. The analogy of the narrow gate certainly is a picture of coming to Jesus as the only one who can save; but I also think that for the believer, the analogy of the narrow gate has application. The life that Jesus offers is found only when we die to ourselves and live unto Him as our Lord and Savior, desiring to please Him in all we do. Knowing Jesus must be our overriding pursuit in life if we are to experience the life He has for us; and, the key is that as we come to know our true identity as sons and daughters of God, pursuing Him and increasing in the knowledge of Him will be our ambition in life and it will be our natural desire to please Him in all we do. Since Jesus gave us His written word, it stands to reason that we spend time in His word, learning of Him; you could say that His word is a narrow gate-only the gospel of God leads to life. Let us live a life of entering by the narrow gate.
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
John 8:12, 10:10 “Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”  “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

SO  ALSO  ARE  WE

  • March 26, 2022                                      SO  ALSO  ARE  WE
  • 1 John 3:18,23      “Little children, let us not love with words or with tongue, but in deed and truth,” “And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.”                                                                                                                                                      1 John 4:10-12, 16-17  “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another. No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God aides in us, and His love is perfected in us.”     “And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him. By this, love is perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgement; because as He is, so also are we in this world.”                                                                                                                        Because we use the word love so lightly and so often, we may have lost the true meaning and the power of love. We know that there are different words for love, but the love that makes a difference and the love that transforms us is the love of God. 1 Corinthians 13 gives us a clear picture of what the love of God looks like in practical terms. The book of 1 John is about the love of God and how it impacts our lives; as we read this book, we are challenged to evaluate our love to see if indeed we are living out of the love of God, or out of mere human love. Love originates in God; God is love, and it was out of His love for us that He sent His Son to be the sacrifice for our sins that we might be restored to Him. There is nothing more powerful than the love of God; it was the love of God at work in the creation of the universe, the creation of man, and the redemption of man. The monumental question for us is have we ‘come to know and believe the love which God has for us.’ Or, we might ask how the love of God has and is impacting our lives on a daily basis. This passage of scripture begins by admonishing us not to love with words, but to love in deed and truth; the love of God will be expressed in action and His love is based on truth. As we read on in this passage we find that the love of God is not something we conjure up; knowing and believing the love of God produces certain fruit in us. This is where many get it wrong; we do not do loving deeds in order to get God’s approval, or because that is what Christians are supposed to do. Knowing and believing the love of God is the catalyst for love being expressed in deed; the love of God moves us to action-just as God’s love moved Him to action; that is why John said that “as He is, so also are we in this world.” John says it in a simple but profound way: “if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.” May we abide in the love of God.
1 John 3:14 “We know that we have passed out of death into life because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.”

THE  SIMPLE  TRUTH

March 24, 2022                               THE  SIMPLE  TRUTH
John 14:23-24 “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.’”
When you think about it, what Jesus is saying in these two verses is amazing, but the central point Jesus is making is often missed. We hear so much about how we need to be more dedicated to God, how we need to be ‘closer’ to God, how we should pray more and read God’s word more, be more faithful at attending church, and etc. All of these things have a place, but at the same time can be a diversion from the truth of what is found in these and many other verses. The truth that is essential to understand if we are going to experience life as God designed, is to know that love for God produces certain fruit. The amazing thing that is so simple, yet often overlooked, is that when we truly love God, we will keep His word, and we will do the things that please Him. Love for God takes us out of the ‘I ought to’ mode. A genuine love for God liberates us, sets us free to be who God designed us to be, and frees us from the burden of trying to keep His word. Loving God keeps us off of the spiritual roller coaster. We are not subjects or slaves of God trying to please Him in our own strength; we are sons and daughters of God whom He greatly loves. In our culture, the word ‘love’ is often lightly used and has many meanings. The love Jesus is talking about is a super-natural love that comes from God. (For a clear picture of the love of God, see 1 Corinthians 13.) Romans 5:5 tells us that the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Now, we are no longer limited to or bound by human love; we can now operate in the super-natural love of God! Jesus did not come begrudgingly or out of a sense of duty to do the Father’s will-He gladly came to do the will of His Father-and our Father. The love of God is all encompassing; not only does His love cause us to keep His word because that is what we want to do, it also means that when we are walking in His love, Jesus and the Father comes to us and makes their abode with us!! Wow! Can we even begin to imagine the implications of the love of God being poured into our hearts? Can we grasp the fact that even though we are at the present mortal beings in flesh and bones, we have the Spirit of God living in us, revealing to us the love of God? Can we grasp the fact that God has transformed us if we belong to Him? This love of God is powerful; it enables us respond to all situations as God would respond; it enables us not to be offended when treated wrong; it allows us to see beyond the failures and faults of others; and it means we can be encouragers and ones who lift others up. Most importantly, the love of God works in us in such a way that it becomes our greatest desire to do the things that please Him. Finally, His love covers us when we fall; in His love, He allows us to repent when and if we sin, and His forgiveness and grace is unending-and amazingly, this is how we can respond to others when they stumble. Think about it!
1 John 2:5-6, 4:7-8 “but whoever keeps His word in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”   “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

FOR  THE  COMMON  GOOD

March 21, 2022                                         FOR  THE  COMMON  GOOD
1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 14 “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.      For the body is not one member, but many.”
Believe it or not, like it or not, others in the body of Christ needs you, and you need them.
The way that God designed the body of Christ goes against the culture in which we live where independency is the norm. From the verses above, we learn that each believer is given a particular expression of the Spirit of God. God has gifted each believer with a certain spiritual gift(s) and it is by each member exercising these gifts that the body of Christ is edified and built up in the faith. If we are not connected to other members of the body, then we are lacking what others can supply through their expression of the Spirit of God, and they lack what we can supply.  God is concerned about the ‘common good’ of the body, and through the work of the Holy Spirit in each member, He gives what is needed in order for individual members and the body as a whole to be spiritually healthy and maturing in the faith. If we believe that we do not need other believers, then we are in conflict with the scripture. See 1 Corinthians 12. For us to grow in the faith and for the body to function as God designed, we must understand that each one of us has been given a ‘manifestation of the Spirit for the common good,’ and we must be about expressing the gift given to us by God. We did not decide to join the body of Christ-God has placed us in the body just as He desired. 1 Corinthians 12:18. Each of us have unique contributions to make to the other members. When we understand the importance of each having a manifestation of the Spirit for the common good, we see that participating in the body (the church) is really non-optional if we are to be spiritually healthy. Expressing our spiritual gift is not reserved for the Sunday morning meeting; functioning in our gifting is a way of life. If you are not familiar with the various spiritual gifts, study the various section of scriptures that list the spiritual gifts and how they operate. Often, other believers can recognize our spiritual gifting quicker than we can; if we are walking in the Spirit and not according to the flesh, our spiritual gifting becomes evident when we spend time with other believers. God loves His church, and He loves us, and He has gifted each of us in such a way that we can grow in our faith and be spiritually healthy-so let us find our place in the body where we experience the ‘manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.’
1 Corinthians 12:11-12 “But one and the same Spirit works all things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.”

I HAVE  LEARNED

3/19/2022

March 19, 2022                                    I  HAVE  LEARNED
Philippians 4:11-13 “Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Man believes that he will be content when his circumstances are as he desires them to be. Even as believers we may find that our contentment is tied to our circumstances; when things are not as we like them to be, we may lose our contentment. However, we learn from Paul that we can learn to be content in all circumstances. Paul said that he did not “speak from want;’ not to be wanting or feeling lack is another way of expressing the idea of contentment. (This is not saying that we should have no ambitions in life or that we should just be waiting to see what happens next.) True contentment-the kind that is not dependent upon circumstances-comes only from God, yet it is something we learn in Him as we grow in Him and increase in the knowledge of Him. Contentment is a matter of trust; if we believe that God is our Father, that He is our provider, that He is ruling and reigning, and that He allows circumstances to be as they are, we experience contentment. To clarify; if for example, I know that I have a leak in the roof of my house, I will have and should have a sense of ‘discontentment’ until I get the leak repaired-that is not what Paul is talking about. Paul is talking about the circumstances that are beyond our control; it is in those circumstances that we must lean contentment. Paul had learned contentment-but he also learned the secret-the secret of being filled and going hungry, and having abundance and suffering need. It is amazing, but Paul had contentment whether being hungry or being filled, or having abundance or having need. It is interesting that Paul did not have the goal of always having material increase; there were times when he had more, and times when he had less. We tend to think that our income and our possessions should be steadily increasing with time; if our income decreases, we may panic. You could say that Paul was content to live a roller-coaster life; sometimes he had abundance, and sometime he was needy. It is not only about the material part of life; our health, our relationships, and our natural environment are areas in which we must also learn contentment. Contentment that is not based our circumstances comes only from knowing God in a personal and intimate way and from walking according to His ways, and from dying to ourselves and living for Him. It is a great discovery for us when we learn as Paul did that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us-no matter the circumstances. No longer are we subject to our circumstances; no longer is contentment like the illusive butterfly; God enables us to be at peace and experience contentment no matte our circumstances. We can learn to be content, and we can learn the secret of being filled and going hungry, and of having abundance and suffering need. Our God is able!
Mathew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘what shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

NEW  THINGS  HAVE  COME

3/17/2022

March 17, 2022                                        NEW  THINGS  HAVE  COME
2 Corinthians 5:14-17 “For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”
In this passage, Paul gives an amazing testimony; what he says presents a totally new view on life. Paul had ‘concluded’ that the love of Christ controlled him-and that should be our conclusion as well. The issue of who or what controls us is the major deal of our life. It is human nature for one to live for himself, but we have been given a new nature, a nature that is led by the Spirit. Jesus died for us and rose again that we might have life and that we might be made new; when He died, we died to a life without God. God accepted the death of His Son as the sacrifice for the sins of all; now we are dead to sin, and now we can live for Him who died and rose again on our behalf.  (We can as believers revert back to living according to self, but we do so by choice.) Now, our relationships should be based not on the flesh, but on the Spirit who indwells each believer. The Spirit is to be the power and inspiration for how we live, and that is to be the determining factor in how we view others and how we relate to others. The Spirit of God living in us enables us to see others as God sees them, and it enables us not to react to the actions of others when they do or say something that would have aggravated us in the past. It is amazing, but God says that if we are in Christ, we are a new creature-a new species of man; old things-who we use to be-has passed away, and new things-the new us-have come. The life we have in Christ is not a refurbished life, but a new life; a life that takes us out of a life that lives according to the flesh, according to self. Sadly, many believes find themselves living and responding much like those who do not know God, who live according to their flesh. We have been wrongly conditioned to believe that even though we claim to know God as our Savior, we remain under the influence of our sin nature. The truth that we must grasp is that the power of sin has been broken and it no longer has power over us; we can now walk and live in newness of life; we can now live according to the Spirit; and we can live life out of the brand new nature that God has given to us. If we do choose to sin, we confess it, turn from it, and continue to walk according to the Spirit. May we walk in newness of life; we have been made new.
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; yet it is no longer I who live, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself up for me.”

BE  ON  GUARD

3/15/2022

March 15, 2022                                           BE  ON  GUARD
2 Peter 3:17-18 “You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.”
In chapter three of 2 Peter, Peter is encouraging the believers to remember the words of the prophets and the words of Jesus and to be reminded that the plans and purposes of God will be carried out to completion. The reason for being on guard is that there will be those who mock God, who will say He is not coming back, implying that it is useless to live according to the words of God. This admonition to be on guard is certainly a relevant word in the culture in which we live as it is a culture that openly mocks and rejects the words and the council of God and promotes a humanistic view of life. Not only are we to be on guard against those who promote the idea of rejecting God, or that God does not exist, we are also to be on guard for anything that would draw our hearts away from the Lord. Perhaps one of the biggest distractions that we must be on guard against lies within us, and Proverbs 4:23 reveals what it is. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” The obvious question is how do we guard our hearts? As Proverbs tells us, the things we do and the thoughts we have originate in the heart, so keeping the heart pure is critical to our spiritual health. To be on guard over our heart means that we filter out those things that are impure, and allowing only what is right, what is true, and what is pure according to God’s standards to enter our hearts. We do not have to live in fear of evil entering our hearts, we just have to monitor what we let in. God has given us new hearts, and we must make the choice to live out of this new heart. As believers who have been given new hearts, we are to be stewards over what God has entrusted to us. The blessing is that when we live out of our new heart, we will be drawn to what is pure, and we will find that the thoughts that flow out of our new hearts are pure. The most foundational way of keeping our hearts pure and living according to the ways of God is to consistently read and study the scriptures, because it is there that we find truth. If we neglect the reading and studying of His word, it is a fact that we will drift from the truth.  Practically, to guard our hearts means that we must say ‘no’ to somethings and ‘yes’ to other things. As an example, we must monitor what we watch on television, or on our IPhone; if it is contrary to the ways of God, if it R-rated, etc., refuse to look at it. Take dominion on what you allow to come through the eye-gate and the ear-gate. When a wrong thought does come in, reject it immediately. Focus and set your heart on being obedient to all of the ‘one-another’ scriptures-love one another, encourage one another, speak words that build up, prefer one another over yourself, forgive one another, and etc. You and I can, and we must, take dominion, be diligent, and be on guard over our hearts and not be compromised by a culture that rejects God. Also, we are reminded in these verses to “grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

AN  EFFECTUAL  DOER

3/13/2022

March 13, 2022                                       AN  EFFECTUAL  DOER
James 1:23-25 “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does.”
There is a tendency for us think that knowledge is the goal when it comes to the word of God; if we know the word, we are good and God is pleased. The verses above dispel any idea that knowledge alone is sufficient. (Certainly, knowing God’s word is very important; we are to grow in the knowledge of God.) God gave us His word so that we might know how to live-His word may be considered an ‘instruction manual’ for life. Of course, before we become doers of His word, we must come to know Him as our Savior and Lord; we don’t come to know Him by doing, we come to know Him because of His grace toward us, drawing us to Himself. James refers to the ‘perfect law of liberty;’ this perfect law refers to the teachings of Jesus as well as the Old Testament writings; the believers who were a part of the early church did not have a bible as we know it. The New Testament is a collection of God-inspired letters that were distributed and passed along to the believers. Just as we forget just what we look like once we stop looking in the mirror, when we stop looking into the word of God-stop valuing the word- we forget who we are-we stop living out of our true identity as believers.  When one “looks intently at the perfect law” and abides by it, he is blessed in what he does. Let us take this simple, straight forward message from James and be doers of His word, not hearers only. The word of God was given to show us the way of life-how to live.
Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
Luke 11:28 “He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
John 14:21 “Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

LIFE  IN  DEED

3/11/2022

March 11, 2022                                        LIFE  IN  DEED
1 Timothy 6:17-19 “Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life in deed.”
We must not overlook these scriptures because they are written to ‘those who are rich’ in this world. Two things; rich is a relevant term; and if you were to, visit Haiti, you would realize that you are rich. Also, those who are considered ‘poor’ by the standards of our society, can also be guilty of seeking riches. With that clarification, let us hear what this passage is saying to us. Obviously, there is a temptation for those who are rich to become conceited and to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches. Being rich or not being rich is not the issue; the issue is how one views the riches he has and how he uses the riches he has. There are those who are considered poor who love God and serve Him, and there are those who are considered rich that love God and serve Him. We must guard against be critical or envious of those who are rich. The point is that it is God who supplies us with all things to enjoy; we must not think that it is by our own prowess that we get what we get. (It is true that if we are diligent in our work and are wise, we will likely achieve some financial success-BUT it is nonetheless God who gives us the ability.) It is refreshing to know that God wants us to enjoy life. The key is-how do we enjoy life-where does the ‘joy’ come from; and what does enjoying life look like. In just a couple verses, Paul gives us the answer to what every person is seeking; the ‘secret’ to enjoying life no matter our financial status or our circumstances. This ‘secret’ to enjoying life sounds too simple-we say surely it is more complicated than that. If we find that we are merely living out of routine, not really enjoying life, there is a simple solution to our dilemma. Here it is-the secret: “do good, be rich in good works, be generous and ready to share.” As we get our focus off of ourselves and embrace this secret-actually do it-we will be taking hold of that which is life indeed. Man says to take care of yourself first; God says to be a blessing to others. Only when we live according to the ways of God will we experience life in deed.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interest, but also to the interest of others.”
Proverbs 11:25 “Whoever brings blessings will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
Blessings,
