LOVE  AND  FORGIVENESS

November 29, 2018                                                     LOVE  AND  FORGIVENESS
Luke: 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgive little, loves little.”
We would do well to have the truth of this verse in the forefront of our hearts and minds. In this verse we find that there is a connection, or relationship, between love and forgiveness; and quite often this relationship is overlooked. The forgiveness that God has extended us is based on His perfect love for us and His forgiveness is not conditional. In Hebrews 8:12 God declares that He will remember our sins no more, and in Psalms 103:12 we are told that God has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. The verse above explains how love and forgiveness are related. Until we realize how great our sin was and how much God has forgiven us, we will not be able to extend forgiveness that is based on love. When we become aware of our own need for forgiveness, we are not so quick to judge others when they sin-after all, who am I not to forgive someone else when I have been guilty of sin myself?  When we are forgiven, our heart is softened and we find that, contrary to what many say, extending forgiveness is not difficult. Actually, having a forgiving spirit is part of our new nature, just as God is a God who forgives. And we need to note that the woman in this verse was guilty of “many” sins; so we must extend forgiveness regardless of how many times someone may have sinned against us. If we do not forgive others, we become imprisoned. Forgiveness is important, as it is part of the reconciliation process, because when we forgive, we are expressing the heart of God and demonstrating His love even in the face of sin. Forgiveness is light overcoming darkness. Somehow, in so much of the church in our culture, there is little said about sin and the need for forgiveness. It seems that we have come to a place where we ignore, or put the issue of sin on the back burner. Thank God that we have been forgiven and born again, but that does not mean that we will never sin again and never be in need forgiveness again-it is possible for us as believers to sin and be in need of cleansing and forgiveness from God and from others. I believe that when we ignore, or choose not to obey what God has said through the scriptures, it is sin on our part. If we are not desiring to live according to the word of God, our hearts should be broken and we should find room for repentance. It is true that we are new creations with new hearts and minds and it is no longer our nature to sin, but we still have to ‘put on’ the new person that we are; if not, we walk according to the flesh where sin finds its opportunity. Colossians 3:5: “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”  Let us reflect on the fact that we were once sinners who were bound for hell, but God extended forgiveness to us when we did not deserve it. Realizing our own need for forgiveness will do away with our judging others and will cause us to “love much.”  The giving and the receiving of forgiveness is a doorway that leads to the very heart of God. Finally, if we allow ourselves to sin against God or another person, let us be quick to confess our sin and turn form it. May this be a time when we see God moving amongst His people: purifying and preparing us for the advancement of His kingdom-and may “His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Mathew 6:14: “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
James 5:16: “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”

November 26, 2018                                          OUR  HELPER
Last night I sensed in my spirit that the Lord was telling me to list some of the verses that assure us that He indeed leads and guides us as we walk with Him day by day. We may feel at times that all of our decisions are solely up to us and that we have to depend on our own wisdom. However, God has not left us alone where we just figure things out on our own; He has given us His Holy Spirit, and one work of the Holy Spirit is that of guiding us and giving direction. The Holy Spirit may use many ways to speak to us as He gives direction, but if we are attentive to Him, we will hear Him. The Holy Spirit speaks to us in specific ways as well as speaking to us through God’s word. Be blessed, and realize that the following verses are for you and I-God has not left us alone. Some of the verses are examples of how the Spirit gave direction to some of the early believers.
Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Isaiah 30:21 “You will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way. Follow it, whether it turns to the right or to the left.’”
John 16:13 “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.”
Acts 8:29 “And the Spirit said to Phillip, ‘Go over and join this chariot.’”
Ezekiel 36:27 “And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statues and be careful to obey My rules.”
Psalm 143:10b “Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”
John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”
John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
Romans 8:14 “For who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
Proverbs 4:11 “I am teaching you the way of wisdom; I am guiding you on straight paths.”
If you are a believer, you have the Holy Spirit of God living in you. Let each of us realize that we desperately need the guidance of the Holy Spirit and let us be sensitive to His voice; may we not quench the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. God does not force us to walk by the Spirit-that is our choice. As we turn our hearts and minds to the work of the Spirit in us, we will begin to recognize His leading in ever increasing ways. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He did not abandon us; Jesus promised that the Father would send us the Holy Spirit to live in each one of us.
Blessings,
Buddy

CHANGE

November 23, 2018                                     CHANGE
2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”
Other than being older, and maybe a few pounds heavier, are you different now than you were a year ago? If so, in what way are you different? We all experience physical change, but I am talking about a spiritual change that results in how we think, how we respond, etc. If we find that there has been no change in our inner man, then that is a sure sign we are due for a spiritual check-up. What we see in the verse above regarding change, far exceeds the results of what the ‘self-improvement’ movement has to offer. For sure, there is value in taking steps to improve ourselves, such as eating the right food, exercise, and developing a healthy thought life. However, the change we are talking about, is more than change-it is a transformation of our inner most being, our core, our spirit. This transformation does not come through self effort, but comes as a result of something we do, and perhaps without us even being aware of the transformation taking place. Being transformed is not to be our goal; the goal is to behold the Lord, to know Him better, to be amazed by who He is, to meditate on Him. The amazing thing that happens, the miracle, is that in the process of beholding Him, of meditating on Him, and learning of Him through His word, we are being transformed into His image! We are transformed when we come to know Him as Savior, but we also are being transformed as our knowledge and understanding of Him and His ways increases. As mentioned above, there is much attention given in the world on self-improvement and self-fulfillment; however, even in Christian circles, even in the church, perhaps in a subtle way, there is an emphasis on how we need to change ourselves, how we are to be better Christians, etc. We are often told that we need to study God’s word more, we need to pray more, we need to give more, we need to serve more, we need to memorize scripture, and etc. These are certainly good things to do, but if we think lasting change comes through doing these things, we will be disappointed and we will not be transformed. Sad to say, but many have spent decades, even their entire life trying to do the things that ‘good’ Christians do; and even sadder is that that is the message they have heard from well-meaning teachers and preachers. The good news is that living the life as depicted in the scriptures is a result of something-a result of the change that takes place in us as we behold Him-as our core is transformed. As they say, we can ‘have the cart before the horse’ thinking that change is our responsibility and our duty. We do not have to live our life chasing the spiritual rabbit we never seem to be able to catch. We must ask ourselves what is it that captures our attention and what is it that our heart desires above all else. The good news, the freeing news is that ‘beholding’ Him, brings about transformation in us, and all of the things that God calls us to do and to be, become natural for us; no longer do we have to try to please Him. If it is our chief desire to know Him more fully, we will not be disappointed-and we will be transformed into His image.
1 Corinthians 1:10 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

THE  SAME  POWER  part 2

11/20/2018

November 20, 2018                                       THE  SAME  POWER  part 2
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
The joy and peace we are talking about is not something we can acquire on our own; joy, peace, and hope come only as we truly trust Him. We may without a thought say that we trust God, but do we really trust Him? Even in the most difficult times, when we do not understand why certain things happen, or when we or a loved one gets the bad news from the doctor, do we trust Him? There is a break-through, a turning point, when our trust in Him becomes the bedrock of our life, when our trust in Him is firmly set, no matter the circumstances; only by having this kind of trust can we live in the joy and peace and hope that is available to us. Once we have this unalterable trust in God our Father, we are then able to live life to the fullest. Having our trust in God does not exempt us from facing difficulties and it does not mean that we take lightly the trials that we and our loved ones face. However, we must be able to see beyond the immediate circumstances-that is the difference. Our world view must be that we believe that Jesus is Savior, that He came and gave His life for us, that He forgives our sins, that He conquered death, that He is our Father, that God has given us the Holy Spirit, that He uses all things for our good, that He comforts us, that He has given us a new heart, a new spirit, and a new mind, and that He never forsakes us. He has made us overcomers in this life; our part is to believe that we are now overcomers and walk in the truth of that. When we live as overcomers, our life is in contrast to the ways of the world. In a recent blog, THE SAME POWER part 1, we saw that being made new spiritually, knowing Jesus as Savior, and walking in our true identity in Him, impacts every aspect of our lives, including our physical being. Having and living life to the fullest is just that-full life. For the one who is walking in fellowship with God, even the ‘skies are bluer and the grass is greener’; the beauty of the sunrise and the sunset never escapes our notice; and enjoying a visit or a cup of coffee with a friend is a blessed experience-you get the point. In other words, life is a gift as well as the magnificent creation; He truly has given us all things to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17. Isaiah 55:12 sums up very well the point I want to make: “You will go out in joy and be lead forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”  The joy that comes from knowing God as our Father is not subject to circumstances, but is a joy that abides-always. In John 16:22, Jesus said: “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” Jesus has risen from the dead, sorrow has gone and joy has come to those who walk in His ways; we now ‘see Him’-His Holy Spirit lives in us. Many believers needlessly struggle with such things as doubt, fear, depression, anger, regrets, etc. If this is you, then what I am about to say may sound over simplified, but it works-it’s the truth-you can do this: acknowledge that you are a child of God and choose to lay aside, or discard any actions or any thoughts that are not of God; take God as His word; place your total trust in Him; confess with your mouth that God has made you an overcomer, and then think on and do the things that please Him. Focus on Him and His word. Finally, make the choice to enjoy the life that He has given you. God does not force His life on us, but He has made it available to us; our part is to choose to embrace all that He says about Himself and about us. No matter your circumstances, joy, hope, and peace are available.
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and have it abundantly.”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

PRESENT  YOUR  BODIES

11/17/2018

November 17, 2018                                  PRESENT  YOUR  BODIES
Romans 12:1-2 “I urge you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:1-2 is a ‘therefore’ to chapter 11 where Paul is declaring the greatness and the power of God; because of who God is, the only right thing for us to do is to present ourselves to Him. Who are we to think that we are in control, or that we are wise, or that we are powerful, or that we are self-sufficient in our own strength, or that we know best? Certainly, the Christian life is spiritual in nature, but I think we sometimes tend to over-spiritualize the message of the gospel. While much of the gospel deals with the spirit of a man, there is nonetheless to be a very practical outworking, or physical expressions resulting from what God has done in the spirit of those who know Him as Savior. Perhaps you have heard it said that “all that matters is what you believe;” even though that may sound good, it is a lie and is in clear conflict with scripture. One error that comes as a result of over-spiritualizing is that we excuse our behavior by telling ourselves that what really matters is what I believe to be right-or that intentions are more important than the action. A message we see throughout the scriptures is that the gospel, when truly believed and received, has a huge impact on the life we live; it changes lives, changes the heart, gives new desires, and set’s us free from sin. When the gospel has its work in us and when we learn who we are in Him, we are changed at our core; the old gives way to the new, sinful habits are forever broken, love becomes the motivation, fear and depression are dealt with, and hope and joy fill our life. Not to condemn, but if we find that our life is not being impacted in a significant way by the gospel, then we need to examine ourselves and ask God to open the eyes of our hearts so that we may see and experience what it means to be in Christ and for Christ to be in us. We are blessed to be able to demonstrate with our life the message of the gospel-the good news. The prerequisite, or the cause of us presenting our body as a living sacrifice is that of seeing the power of God, of believing that Jesus came as Savior, that He loves us, and that He has adopted us into His family. Let us see that when we, because of who God is, express acts of righteousness, when we bless others, when we give, when we pray, etc., we are actually worshiping God; worshiping Him results in action on our part. Beware: because the world does not understand or believe the power of the gospel, it will try to conform us to fit its pattern. Rather than being conformed to the world, let us make sure that we are transformed by the renewing of our mind and let us present our bodies as a living, holy sacrifice to God-that is the only reasonable thing to do in light of who God is.
1 Peter 1:15 “but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;”
Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.”

THE  SAME  POWER

November 14, 2018                                     THE  SAME  POWER
Romans 8:10-11 “And if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But id the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.”
Romans 6:4 “Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.”
Do you feel really alive? Without even realizing it, we become so accustomed to the routines of life, that we may find ourselves just going through the motions of life more or less on auto pilot. I can vividly remember as a young boy the absolute joy and excitement of getting up early on Saturday mornings and heading into the woods with my trusty BB gun to spend hours rambling and hunting. In that time of my life, as I am sure it was in your life, life was one big adventure-even school! That life was not a result of knowing Christ as Savior, but it does serve as a picture in the natural of even a greater life that is available to us in Christ. Becoming a believer, being born again, is a ‘spiritual’ experience for sure, but the consequence or result of being joined to God impacts, or should impact every aspect of our life, including the physical-and that is the point I want to address in this blog. It is my desire that we can, with the Holy Spirit helping us, come to understand and to experience life to the fullest, life over-flowing day by day. I understand that we have difficulties to deal with in life and I know that life is not one big ‘happy’ experience, but nonetheless, we can know and we can experience life to the fullest. Life is life. God is unlimited, God is life, God is creator; God is not bored and He does not expect His people to live in boredom or a ho-hum experience. We have been joined to the Creator of the universe, and because He lives in us, we are not limited by time or by the circumstances of life. His presence in us gives a totally new perspective to life, even what we might call the mundane part of life. It may sound absurd, but something as simple as having a cup of coffee or mowing the lawn can take on a sense of being engaged in real life-all because it is in His presence that we live and move and have our being! No longer do we have to ‘endure’ life-life now becomes a blessing-even the difficulties. Even problems can be a blessing; for example, if you were drifting at sea in a life raft for weeks, you may think how wonderful it would be to be back at home changing a flat tire-or some problem---not a great example, but you get the point-it’s a blessing to have a flat tire to change.  In Him, we can embrace life as it comes-the difficult and the good-knowing that He has a purpose in all that we encounter. I am just saying to us, let us lighten up a bit, throw off the stress, the boredom, and the ‘life in the rut,’ and take on the life of the overcomer that we are because of His presence in us. It’s true, we do have only one life to live on planet Earth. Just think-the power that raised Jesus form the dead lives in us!  Because of that, we can walk in newness. Do not wait on God to zap you. He has already done what He needed to do in order for us to have life-your part is to believe it and to claim it as yours.  More on this in the next blog.
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy. I came that they might have life, and may have it abundantly.”

November 10, 2018                                       TO  EACH  ONE
1 Corinthians 12: 1, 7 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.”    “But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”
Through a super-natural act of God, each believer has the Spirit of God living in them for the purpose of revealing Christ, for leading and guiding, and for power to live the Christian life. In various places in the New Testament, there are scriptures that list the various spiritual gifts and give instruction on the use of these gifts. When a believer is walking in fellowship with God, his or her spiritual gifting is obvious to all; you do not have to convince a believer to express his gifting-it just happens. Believers need to be instructed in regards to expressing their gifting within the body of Christ, and there is a place for encouraging believers to put their gift to use. With that background, today I want to remind us and encourage us in the fact that God has given to us the Holy Spirit and each of us have been given a specific spiritual gift(s); Paul said that he did not want believers to be unaware of this reality. It’s important to know that spiritual gifts or not given to exalt us or to make us feel ‘special’. God loves His body, the church, and He makes every provision for the body in order for it to be healthy and to fulfill its purpose. It is God’s design that the members of the body need each other and God uses the spiritual gifts of the individual members to contribute to the body that which is needed for maturity, encouragement, and instruction. In verse 11 we read: “But the one and same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.” Not only is it awesome to know, it’s also crucial to know that you and I as members of the body of Christ, can ‘manifest’ the Spirit for the common good of the body. It is a sad commentary that many believers in our day do not know their place in the body and are unaware of the fact that they are needed in the body and that they need the body.  Paul illustrates this point of members needing each other in verses 18 and 21: “But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.”  “And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you.’”   The church is not to be a place where we go just to hear a good sermon and hear good music; the church, as God designed it, is to be a place where we go not only to be blessed, but also to bless others as we employ our spiritual gifting and to be a part of God expressing Himself to the body. We need to develop the mindset that being active in the body of Christ is not an option, but is necessary for us and for others if we are to mature in the faith. If you are a believer, God has given you a spiritual gift and a unique way for you to manifest the work of the Spirit to others. Let us reject the cultural theme of individualism and let us embrace the fact that God has placed us in His body, the church, where He has gifted each member for the edification of the body.
1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
Romans 12:6a “And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly.”

November 6, 2018                                             DO   WE  NOT  KNOW
Romans 6:3-4, 6-7: “Or do you not know that all of us have been baptized into Christ into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.   …knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.”
Do we know that we have died? Water baptism is a picture of one who has trusted Christ as Savior being buried with Christ and then being raised up as a new creation; our old man is buried just as Christ was buried, and the ‘new us’ is raised from the dead. No doubt there are some believers who have not yet heard about or yet understand the important truth in regards to baptism; however, the great majority of believers are well aware of the call to die to self. Actually, when one becomes a believer, he does die to himself and is placed in Christ, but it is possible for him to stop walking in newness and once again walk, or revert back to living according to the flesh-who he use to be. When a believer chooses to walk according to the flesh, he does not lose his salvation, but he quenches the Spirt of God and he loses fellowship with the Father and the joy of the Lord, and his testimony is damaged. The most un-popular sermons, the ones that most had rather not hear, are those dealing with the call to die to ourselves. Man has a natural-born, innate bent to satisfy self-and that is the root problem, even in Christian circles. Tragically, there are well-meaning, but misinformed, authors and teachers who consider themselves Christians who promote the idea of making self happy and self-fulfillment. The ways of God and life in His kingdom are not like the ways of the world; in fact, the two kingdoms are directly opposed to each other. The message of the world is that satisfying self is the most important; the message of the kingdom of God is that death precedes life. The choice of living for self or dying to self is the fork in the road for each of us-even as believers. Dying to self does not sound like fun, right? Yet, the clear message of the gospel is that when we die to our self, to our ways and to our desires, only then do we find the abundant life that Jesus promised. Dying to self may not sound logical, but it is the only way to experience all that God has for us. The real us is the new person we are in Christ, and we live as the new us only when we consider our old self as dead. The call to die to self is not just for theological and spiritual discussion; there are practical implications of walking in the new person we are. The scriptures reveal the new us; those who walk in this newness will find themselves fulfilling the one-another commands of scripture: loving one another, preferring one another, blessing and encouraging one another-and the list goes on. Instead of focusing on self, love for God and love for others becomes the motivation and the power of our lives. AND, as we live out of our newness, we find total fulfillment, contentment, a sense of purpose, peace and joy. So, as believers, we have a choice: we can revert back to living the self-seeking life, or we can acknowledge that who we were has died and choose to yield ourselves to who we are in Christ. God has made it possible for every believer to die to self and walk according to newness. Let us daily die to our old self and let us embrace who we truly are as sons and daughters of God. As we live in the reality that our old self has died and that we have been raised in newness, we are freed from sin!
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in Me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

THAT  HE  WOULD  GRANT

November 3, 2018                                   THAT  HE  WOULD  GRANT
Ephesians 3:16-21 “that He would grant to you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Every believer has a great need, and only God can meet that need; Paul prayed that God would grant to us what must happen if we are going to live the Christian life as portrayed in the New Testament.  As you read the writings of Paul, you readily see that it was his all- consuming passion and the desire of his heart that believers would come to know their true identity in the Lord and to know what it meant for Christ to dwell in their hearts. This prayer of Paul was not just for the believers of his day; If Paul was present with us today, He would pray this same prayer for us because it has always been and always will be the greatest need of believers. Paul knew that it was possible for one to be born again and yet not mature in the faith, but remain infants in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:1. It may be a process for some, or it may be sudden, but however it happens, it is knowing and experiencing the reality of the Holy Spirit of God living in us that makes the difference. The Holy Spirit works deep within, in our inner man, changing and transforming us from the inside out. As believers, we need to know the truth of the scriptures-who God says we are-and not only do we need to know it with our mind, we also must have faith and claim as true all that God says about us through His word. In God’s kingdom, faith is essential; Hebrews 11:6 tells that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Knowing God, knowing that His Spirit indwells us, and even our faith, comes as a result of God revealing these truths to us. That is what Paul is praying for-that God would grant to us the knowledge of His presence in us and all that that means. Since this comes through revelation, then one might say that all we can do is to wait and hope that someday God would give us such revelation. It is true that God is the one who reveals, and how and when He chooses to give revelation is totally up to Him. However, I think we can make ourselves better candidates to receive revelation from God by seeking Him first, by having a heart to know Him, by studying the scriptures, and by quickly obeying every command we see in the scriptures and following the leading of the Holy Spirit who indwells us. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33. In Jeremiah 29:13 we read: “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” Knowing the work of the Spirit in our inner man is to be strengthened with power, a power that comes from God. When God rules in our inner man, we have confidence, hope, faith, boldness, steadfastness, joy, and peace. The over-riding aspect of God ruling is that of love; it is the love of God that changes us, that brings about all the fruit of the Spirit; His love is the foundation; His love is supreme.  May we be rooted and grounded in the love of God, and out of that love may we begin to discover just how awesome is the love that surpasses knowledge. The word of God is not primarily a book of good information; it is a book that has as its main purpose, the total transformation of man; through the word of God and the Holy Spirit working together, we are no longer mere human beings-we are made sons and daughters of God who have been made new, with the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father making their abode in us!
Ephesians 1:18-19b “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
