March 1, 2020                                   IN  ALL  YOUR  WAYS
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine hear; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
Psalm 9:10 “Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.”
Who’s in the center? What or who is the core motivation of our life? For what or for whom are we living for? These questions are the most important questions we could ever ask ourselves; how we answer these questions reveals our heart and also gives a clear picture of our relationship with God. In essence, the answer to these questions reveal whether our life is a self-centered, or a God centered life. It would be wise on our part to examine our hearts and answer these questions honestly-not in a condemning way, but in a way that leads to life. If our life is God-centered and we ae walking in fellowship with God, then these verses above are encouraging and are wonderful promises. No condemnation if you have trouble answering these questions; every believer at some point has to make adjustments or realign himself or herself spiritually. In fact, we are responsible for our spiritual well-being; we are not to wait for God to zap us. In Ephesians 4:23 we are told “to be renewed;” in Romans 12:2 “to be transformed,” and “to discern what is the will of God.” So, we have everything to gain by taking a spiritual inventory of our lives; if we find that we need to make adjustments, or even to repent of living a self-life, so be it. It is much better to trust the Lord with all of our hearts than to lean on our own understanding; I’m sure we all know the agony of bad decisions we have made based on our own understanding. I’m reminded of the warning of Proverbs 14:12: “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” When we are faced with a decision we have to make, it is wise to seek wisdom and guidance from God as to what we decide; we are limited in our understanding and unable to know what the future holds, whereas God knows everything-past, present and future. It is a healthy perception to have, that as human beings, we are but dust; it is God who enables us to ‘live and move and have our being.’ Acts 17:28. When we realize that our life comes from our heavenly Father, we more readily acknowledge Him in all we do. It is not just our going to church on Sunday that God is interested in; God is interested in the life we live as sons and daughters and nothing we do is outside of His concern for us. He came that we might have full, or abundant life. Being a follower of Christ is a package deal; whether we are teaching a bible class or whether we are playing golf, or whatever, God is our life and He is present in us-giving life! No longer do we have to try to list what is our number one priority, our number two, etc.; rather, life is more like a circle with God at the center where all things flow out from Him. Let us remember the promise in Psalm 9:10 which tells us that God never forsakes those that seek Him-He wants us to find Him and discover that life is in Him.
Psalm 143:81 “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
Blessings,
Buddy
