Ephesians 3:16-20 “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever, Amen.
God has big plans and desires for us. We may not understand why, but God lavishes His love on us and He does awesome things in us. It is God’s desire that we be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit; that Christ dwells in our hearts; and that we be rooted and grounded in love. He wants us to know the blessings we have as His sons and daughters and to know in a personal way the love He has for us. We can’t explain this love for us-it surpasses knowledge. It may seem like an impossibility for us mortal, earthly people-but God wants us to be filled up to all the fullness of God! I do not know exactly what that looks like, but I know it is awesome and it’s a possibility. It means that the life we live resembles God! We for too long have missed or overlooked the message of the gospel; God did not save us just so we could go to heaven when we die; He saved us to transform us into His image. He has given us a new heart, a new nature, and a new mind and Has put His Spirit in us. Because of His great work in us, we are no longer who we use to be; now we live as unto the Lord walking in HIs ways. Away with our old ways; let us walk in newness, pleasing Him in all our ways. For example, if we have been an impatient person in the past, now be patient; if we have been immoral in the past, now be moral-it’s just that simple. I think the root thing for us is to search out and believe what God has made available to us-it’s better that we can imagine. What He has done is ‘exceeding abundantly beyond all we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. Let us reject the lies of the enemy that would rob us of who we are in Christ and who He is in us and may we discover what it means to be filled up to the fulness of God.
Colossians 2:2-3 “that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
