Jude 1:18-21,24-25 “that they were saying to you, “In the last times there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who causes divisions, worldly minded, devoid of the Spirit. But you beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith: praying in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.” “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you to stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”
We can get so use to our surroundings that we become dull and somewhat inattentive to what is taking place in the culture as a whole. It reminds me of the story of the frog that is put is a pan of cool water, and when the water is gradually heated, he never jumps out, but dies in the hot water. The absolute truth is that there is a monumental contrast in the those who do not know Jesus as their Savior and those who do know Him as Savior. (Before we go further, it must be noted that believers can become lukewarm in their relationship with God and can blend in with the world; these are the ones who will be saved, “yet so as by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:15.) No one can deny that we live in a day when there are ‘mockers, following after their own ungodly lust;’ and they are ‘the ones who cause divisions, worldly minded, devoid of the Spirit.’ On the other hand, and in great contrast, are the ones who belong to God and who are walking in His ways-and I believe that describes you and me. God calls us ‘beloved;’ how awesome is that. We belong to God, but we still have the power of choice and we have the opportunity to work out what He is working in us. We are to be about building ourselves up in our most holy faith. Faith is a gift from God-it is a holy faith, never to be taken lightly and never neglected. We are to be people of prayer-talking to and listening to God who speaks to us through the Spirit. And, we are to keep ourselves in the love of God-don’t miss that; God never leaves us and He always loves us; but it is possible for us to not embrace His love and to live unaware of His great love for us. In other words, let us be fervent in the things of God. As we live in His ways, we are at the same time to be waiting for the day when He will return and take us to be with Him in heaven forever. We are not perfect in this life; but He is able to keep us from stumbling and He can and will make us stand in His presence blameless with great joy!! God is the author of our salvation and He is our sustainer; our part is to have our hearts turned to Him, choosing to walk in His ways. Let knowing Him in greater ways be the strongest desire of our heats.
Matthew 6:33 “But seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
